  • Creator profile information: username/handle, bio, profile photo, links, and other information you add to your page.
  • Subscriber information: email addresses and related details submitted by users who subscribe to a Creator through the Platform.
  • Messages and communications: messages you send through the Platform, support requests, and other communications.
  • Content: posts, files, media, digital products, and other content you upload or publish.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, language settings, referring URLs, pages viewed, clicks, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication, preferences, security, and analytics (see Section 8).

2.3 Payment Information

Payments on Direct.me are processed by third-party payment processors, including Stripe Connect. Direct.me does not store full payment card numbers. We may receive limited payment-related information (such as payment status, last 4 digits, payment method type, and transaction identifiers) to operate the Platform, provide receipts, manage disputes, and prevent fraud.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for the following business purposes:

  • Provide and operate the Platform: create accounts, host pages and content, process transactions, deliver digital products, and enable subscriptions.
  • Messaging and communications: enable Creator-to-subscriber communications and platform messaging, send transactional notices (e.g., receipts, confirmations), and respond to support requests.
  • Safety and security: prevent fraud, detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and protect the Platform and users.
  • Analytics and improvements: understand how the Platform is used, troubleshoot, develop new features, and improve performance.
  • AI features: provide AI-powered tools and functionality (including AI credits for eligible plans) and improve our models and systems. This may include using content and usage data to train, fine-tune, or evaluate models, consistent with applicable law and this Privacy Policy.
  • Legal compliance: comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following situations:

  • With service providers: hosting, storage, analytics, customer support tooling, email delivery, security, fraud prevention, and similar services.
  • With payment processors: including Stripe Connect, to process payments, prevent fraud, and comply with financial and regulatory requirements.
  • With Creators (subscriber relationships): when a user subscribes to a Creator, the Creator may access subscriber information (including email addresses) and communications tools as part of providing their offerings.
  • For legal reasons: to comply with law, regulations, court orders, or lawful requests, and to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy transaction.

No sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as a standalone business model. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required opt-out mechanisms.

5. Creator Pages, Public Content, and Links

Creator profile pages and certain content may be public depending on settings. Any information you choose to publish publicly can be viewed by others and may be indexed by search engines.

Creators may include links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform and for legitimate business purposes such as security, dispute resolution, auditing, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and why we collected it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • keep you logged in and maintain session security,
  • remember preferences,
  • understand platform usage and improve performance.

9.2 Marketing and Creator Communications

Creators may send messages to their subscribers through the Platform. You can unsubscribe from Creator communications using the unsubscribe mechanism where available or by contacting support.

We may send transactional or administrative messages that are necessary to operate the Platform (e.g., receipts, security notices). These are not marketing communications.

9.3 Access, Deletion, and Correction Requests

This section describes rights that may apply under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).

10.3 No Sale / No Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as our business model. If that changes, we will provide the right to opt out as required by law.
